MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA) bounces back with one of the biggest travel expos in the Philippines as travel restrictions are being eased domestically and internationally.
PTAA’s 29th Travel Tour Expo and 7th International Travel Trade Expo will be held this June 24 to 26 at the SMX Convention Center in Manila with the theme, “Braving and Shaping the Future of Travel”.
The three-day expo will be held in Function Rooms 1-5 of SMX Convention Center’s 2nd floor.
Ticket prices for admission are PHP50 for general admission and PHP30 for senior citizens.
“The grand event signifies the recovery of travel and tourism this 2022, where the pandemic is nothing to be feared anymore. This is the year where travel businesses will flourish, and this is where we bring a new golden age for tourism,” PTAA President Michelle Taylan said.
The 2019 travel expo saw more than 120,000 visitors and 1,035 exhibitors. As for this year’s expo, exhibitors are limited to around 150, with the expected guests at around 30,000 to 45,000 only, to keep health and safety protocols intact.
Visitors can expect exclusive promos and discounts from different agencies, along with exciting raffles and game shows.
According to a report from Travel Update Philippines, among the exhibitors are: airlines (8), travel agencies and tour operators (16 and 1 foreign-based), hotels and resorts (67), government and national tourism organization (17), travel insurance (5), travel related entities and merchandiser (21), and food concessionaires (9).
Cebu Pacific, one of the exhibitors, will be offering flights to South Korea and Japan at a markdown price.
Arlene Tena, Cebu Pacific Passenger Sales & Distribution director, said Japan will allow the entry of tourists starting June 10, but requires that trips be booked via Japan-accredited tour operators.
