It really is happening this 2022!
MANILA, Philippines – On May 9, Disney’s 20th Century Studios enticed the public with the teaser trailer for the Avatar sequel, officially titled “Avatar: The Way of Water”.
The follow-up to the highest grossing film of all time at the global box office comes 13 years after it left worldwide audiences in awe of the world of Pandora and the film’s advanced CGI technology when it was released in 2009.

The movie’s award-winning director, James Cameron, retweeted the teaser on his official account, saying “I’ve been looking forward to this. Here’s the teaser trailer for AVATAR: The Way of Water.”
The teaser closes with Sam Worthington’s character Jake Sully telling Zoe Saldana’s Neytiri, “I know one thing. Wherever we go, this family is our fortress.”
“Avatar: The Way of Water” is set to debut in cinemas on December 16, 2022.
And, as if to make up for its fans’ very long waiting period, three more Avatar sequels are set to be released in December 2024, 2026 and 2028.
