MANILA, Philippines – With only a few more days left until the May 9 elections, registered voters can make use of the Commission on Election’s (COMELEC) Voter Verifier website to check their registration status and assigned polling precinct ahead of the election day.
COMELEC, in partnership with the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT), launched the precinct finder website this April 22.
The website, which offers users an easy-to-navigate interface and gives results within a few minutes upon information input, can be found here.
Upon loading, voters are requested to input the following data:
- Location (local or overseas)
- Complete Name
- Place of Registration
As for privacy concerns, the website states that “no personal information is being stored in the database” and that these are used solely for searching registration details.
In the past months, voters have been doing their research on the national and local candidates as part of their responsibility of making wise votes.
Taking advantage of this tool, the precinct finder, is also another way for voters to do their part in ensuring a smoother flow of elections with less crowding to ensure social distancing amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
