MANILA, Philippines — After the controversial “Poblacion Girl” incident, another quarantine breach has been reported.
On Monday, Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat disclosed that another Filipina traveler from the United States breached quarantine protocols.
The passenger’s violation was reported by an informant who personally knew her. This informant has also given a sworn affidavit regarding the breach. The informant provided screen captures of the passenger’s Instagram stories where she showed herself getting a massage.
Puyat noted, “She was very proud that she was skipping quarantine.” Puyat also revealed that the passenger went home directly to her condominium rather than checking into a hotel for mandatory quarantine.
The passenger’s name and whereabouts have been tracked down by DOT. Puyat said that these details have been handed over to BOQ (Bureau of Quarantine) and DILG (Department of Interior and Local Government). She leaves the case up to these respective agencies.
