CLARK FREEPORT, PAMPANGA — The Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC) has significantly boosted the government’s coffers, remitting ₱585.7 million in dividends to the national treasury on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
The payment represents 60 percent of CIAC’s adjusted net income from its highly successful 2025 operations. According to CIAC President and CEO Jojit Alcazar, this latest remittance is a staggering 88 percent higher than the ₱310.9 million turned over the previous year, signaling a robust recovery and expansion for the aviation hub.
The airport’s parent corporation saw a banner year in 2025, driven by improved operational efficiency and a surge in trade and travel:
- Net Income Growth: CIAC posted a net income of ₱976 million in 2025, a 72 percent increase from the ₱565 million recorded in 2024.
- Operational Efficiency: Alcazar attributed the growth to “prudent fiscal management” and a business-friendly environment that has successfully attracted new locators and partnerships.
- Legal Compliance: The dividend declaration is in accordance with Republic Act No. 7656, which requires government-owned or controlled corporations (GOCCs) to share their earnings with the national government.
A major factor in CIAC’s financial strength is the development of the Clark Aviation Capital, a 1,441-hectare area dedicated to aviation and logistics services within the 4,440-hectare Clark Freeport.
- Investment Hub: The corporation’s ability to draw investments into this specialized zone has created a consistent upward trend in revenue.
- Strategic Growth: Recent agreements between the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) have further positioned Clark as a primary aviation and logistics gateway for Southeast Asia.
The increased remittance comes at a critical time as the national government navigates broader economic challenges, including the current national energy emergency. The funds will provide a much-needed fiscal boost for national priority projects.
“CIAC was able to surpass its previous high due to improved operations alongside a consistent upward trend in revenue,” Alcazar stated. As Clark continues to evolve into a major regional logistics center, its contribution to the national economy is expected to play an even more pivotal role in the administration’s “Bagong Pilipinas” infrastructure and development goals.
