Kyline Alcantara Extends Fuel Aid to Jeepney and Tricycle Drivers

MANILA, Philippines — Amidst a challenging global fuel crisis, Kapuso actress Kyline Alcantara has stepped up to provide tangible relief to those most affected: the country’s transport workers.

On Friday, April 10, 2026, the actress shared photos and videos of her initiative, where she spent the day at a gas station personally facilitating fuel assistance for a long line of jeepney and tricycle drivers.

For Alcantara, the cause is deeply personal. She revealed that the initiative was a way to honor her late grandfather, Papa Ben, who was a jeepney driver in their barangay in Bicol.

  • Family Inspiration: “I grew up seeing Papa Ben work as a jeepney driver… I’ve been wondering how he would feel if he could see and experience the fuel crisis today,” she wrote in a heartfelt Instagram caption.
  • Vulnerable Sector: Alcantara noted that while everyone is affected by rising costs, the impact is significantly heavier on jeepney, tricycle, and TNVS drivers whose livelihoods depend entirely on fuel prices.

Beyond her own contribution, the actress used her platform to appeal to her peers in the entertainment industry and the general public to help in any way possible.

  • “Tulungan Natin Sila”: Alcantara urged those with the means to extend kindness, emphasizing that even small gestures bring immense happiness to those struggling to make ends meet.
  • Industry Support: She specifically addressed her friends and colleagues, encouraging a community-wide effort to support the transport sector during this period of economic strain.

Alcantara joins other digital influencers and celebrities who have used their resources to mitigate the impact of the fuel crisis. Recently, content creator Arshie Larga also provided fuel assistance to over 1,000 tricycle drivers.

These efforts come as the Philippines awaits a projected double-digit rollback in fuel prices next week, following a period of extreme volatility driven by tensions in the Middle East. For many drivers on the ground, however, Alcantara’s immediate aid provides a much-needed bridge to that potential relief.
