Back in Full Swing: The Ayala Land Premier Golf Invitational Returns to the Fairways

CALAMBA, Laguna — Under the watchful gaze of Mount Makiling and the refreshing breeze of late March, the Ayala Land Premier Golf Invitational made its highly anticipated return to the Ayala Greenfield Golf & Leisure Club.

After a hiatus since its inaugural event in 2019, the tournament welcomed back a community of approximately 150 golfers for a day that blended competitive sport with a signature touch of hospitality and luxury.

The venue for the comeback was the Robert Trent Jones Jr.-designed course at Ayala Greenfield. Known for its sweeping views of Laguna de Bay and the Tagaytay Ridge, the course proved as challenging as it was scenic. Players faced lightning-fast greens and exacting bunkers, demanding precision at every hole.

“The course remains as stunning—and as challenging—as ever,” noted participants, as the morning and afternoon batches of golfers navigated the lush terrain.

The day concluded with a high-spirited awarding dinner where Laurent Lamasuta was crowned the overall champion. Joining him on stage were various tournament winners who hoisted their trophies alongside Ayala Land Premier executives.

The event also featured a star-studded guest list, including beloved comedian Michael V (Beethoven Bunagan), who participated in the festivities alongside his wife, Carolyn.

For Ayala Land Premier, the event was about more than just the scorecard. It was a “reaffirmation” of a tradition. Players were treated to curated experiences, from gift certificates for premium golf apparel to luxury hole-in-one prizes, including a BYD Sealion 5 DM-i and a Panerai timepiece.

“That inaugural event in 2019 was meant to start a tradition, and today, we’re proud to continue it—bringing together a special community once again,” said Mike Jugo, President of Ayala Land Premier, during his opening remarks.

As the sun set over the Laguna fairways, the sentiment among the players was unanimous: the invitational is officially back as a staple on the Philippine golfing calendar.
