PAGASA: Hot, Humid Weather Expected Friday with Possible Isolated Rains

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said most parts of the Philippines will experience hot and humid weather on Friday, although isolated rain showers and thunderstorms may occur later in the day.

Weather forecasters explained that the prevailing easterlies, or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean, continue to influence the country’s weather pattern. These winds bring generally fair weather but can also trigger brief rain showers, particularly in the afternoon or evening.

PAGASA said many areas across the country will likely see partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with localized thunderstorms possible due to heat and humidity. These sudden downpours could bring flash floods or landslides in vulnerable areas if thunderstorms become intense.

The weather bureau also noted that no low-pressure area or tropical cyclone is currently being monitored within the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

Temperatures in several cities may reach the low to mid-30 degrees Celsius range, contributing to the uncomfortable heat index felt in many urban areas.

Authorities advise the public to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to extreme heat, and remain alert for sudden thunderstorms that could develop during the day.

PAGASA added that the current weather pattern may continue over the next few days as the easterlies remain the dominant weather system affecting the country.
