MANILA, Philippines — The state weather bureau PAGASA reported during its 5:00 AM bulletin on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, that a large part of the country will experience generally fair weather, although localized thunderstorms remain possible.

  • Easterlies: This is currently the dominant weather system affecting the country.
  • Amihan (Northeast Monsoon): The monsoon has temporarily ceased to prevail, though it is expected to return by Friday, affecting extreme northern Luzon.
  • Tropical Cyclones: There is currently no low-pressure area (LPA) being monitored within or near the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

  • Metro Manila & Rest of PH: Generally fair weather with chances of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, mostly in the afternoon or evening.
  • Rains & Cloudy Skies: The Zamboanga Peninsula, Palawan, Basilan, and Tawi-Tawi are expected to have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.
  • Outlook: Fair weather is expected to persist until Wednesday before the amihan returns at the end of the week.
