MANILA, Philippines — Couples and families planning outdoor activities this Valentine’s Day, Saturday, February 14, 2026, are advised to bring umbrellas as the state weather bureau, PAGASA, predicts rains and cloudy skies across several regions due to the influence of three distinct weather systems.
According to the 5:00 a.m. forecast delivered by PAGASA weather specialist Loriedin de la Cruz-Galicia, the country’s weather is currently being shaped by the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan), a Shear Line, and the Easterlies.
Detailed Regional Weather Forecast
- Northern Luzon (Northeast Monsoon): Cloudy skies and isolated rainshowers are expected over Batanes, the Babuyan Islands, and Ilocos Norte.
- Central and Southern Luzon (Shear Line): The convergence of warm and cold winds will bring high chances of rain and cloudy skies to:
- Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quirino, and Nueva Vizcaya.
- Bulacan, Rizal, Quezon Province, Laguna, and Camarines Norte.
- Metro Manila and Rest of Luzon: Generally fair weather with chances of localized thunderstorms. Interestingly, temperatures in these areas are expected to be hotter than in previous days, except for upland regions.
- Southern Mindanao (Easterlies): Warm winds from the Pacific Ocean will cause cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.
No Immediate Threats PAGASA noted that no low-pressure area (LPA) is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) within the next two to three days. Additionally, no gale warnings have been raised, meaning sea travel remains generally safe across the country’s seaboards.
While the rain may dampen some Valentine’s plans, the bureau also noted that the overall trend for the first half of 2026 remains relatively dry, with only 4 to 11 tropical cyclones predicted for the period of February to July.
