In a clash of philosophies on Thursday, February 5, at the FilOil EcoOil Centre, the “quiet” Cignal squad dismantled the star-studded Choco Mucho Flying Titans in four sets: 25-20, 16-25, 25-19, 25-18.
Chemistry over Star Power The Flying Titans entered the match as favorites after a blockbuster offseason that saw the return of Sisi Rondina from the national program and the landmark signing of Eya Laure. However, Cignal’s long-standing connection proved too resilient for the newly formed “super team.”
- Erika Santos Leads: The former PVL on Tour MVP delivered a stellar performance, finishing with 18 points (14 attacks, two aces, and two blocks).
- Vanie Gandler’s Stability: Gandler, a national team standout, contributed 16 points and emphasized that the team’s bond was their greatest asset. “In volleyball, you really need to connect with each other… our connection definitely improved compared to last year,” she said.
