MANILA, Philippines — In a major boost to disaster recovery and public health, the Manila Water Foundation (MWF), in partnership with Pascual Laboratories and Manila Water Philippine Ventures, has turned over a massive donation of hydration, health, and hygiene products to the provinces of Cebu and Davao del Norte.
The initiative aims to support communities still reeling from the back-to-back impacts of recent typhoons and earthquakes.
Support for Cebu The donation was formally received by Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro at the Cebu Provincial Capitol. The package includes:
- Refrigerated Drinking Fountains (RDFs): Six units to be installed in select district hospitals across the province to provide clean, cold potable water for patients and frontline health workers.
- Vitamin Supplements: Boxes of Poten-Cee Ascorbic Acid from Pascual Laboratories to bolster the immune systems of affected residents.
- Hygiene Kits: Boxes of Derma-C soap to support ongoing sanitation and relief efforts in disaster-stricken areas.
Governor Baricuatro expressed her gratitude, noting that the contribution is essential for the long-term well-being of Cebuanos as they rebuild their communities.
Health Drive in Tagum City The mission extended to Tagum City, Davao del Norte, where Tagum Water facilitated the turnover of Derma-C hygiene products to the Tagum City Health Center. These supplies are intended to support the local government’s health and hygiene campaigns, particularly in high-density communities.
Commitment to WASH Manila Water Foundation Executive Director Reginald Andal highlighted the foundation’s long-standing commitment to its Water Access, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) programs. Over the years, MWF has built multi-faucet hygiene facilities and provided potable water to schools and local governments across the Visayas and Mindanao regions.
“Manila Water Foundation remains committed to collaborating with private sector partners and local governments to support community health and well-being through WASH,” Andal stated. The foundation’s ongoing disaster response efforts continue to bridge the gap in essential services for thousands of Filipinos in vulnerable areas.
