TARLAC CITY, Philippines — Persistence has finally paid off for a senior citizen from Tarlac, who claimed a life-changing ₱15.84-million jackpot in the SuperLotto 6/49 draw held on January 13, 2026.
The lucky winner, whose name is being withheld for safety, correctly guessed the winning combination 15–28–26–06–27–25. These “alagang numero” (maintained numbers) are based on the birthdays of his family members—a set he has faithfully bet on for nearly 30 years.
A Loyal Patron Since the 90s When he claimed his prize at the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Main Office on January 14, the winner fondly recalled his long history with the lotto. When asked how long he had been playing, he smiled and replied, “Ay, panahon pa po ni Ramos,” referring to the administration of former President Fidel V. Ramos in the 1990s.
The winner revealed that he relies on financial support from his children, part of which he sets aside for his nightly routine of watching the lotto draws on television. On the night of his win, he said he knew immediately that he had hit the jackpot and could hardly sleep from the excitement.
Securing the Next Generation Despite the sudden wealth, the new millionaire remains grounded. He shared that he plans to pass the majority of the winnings to his children to ensure their future and financial security. “Ang napanalunan ay ipapamana na lang sa mga anak,” he said.
The PCSO highlighted the winner’s story as a testament to the hope and assistance their games provide. As per the TRAIN Law, the ₱15.8-million prize is subject to a 20-percent final tax, which will be deducted before the check is released.
The SuperLotto 6/49 draws are held every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. As the PCSO motto goes: “Sa Bawat Taya, May Kawanggawa” (In every bet, there is charity), reminding the public that their wagers also fund the agency’s various medical and social programs.
