The Unkabogable Comeback: Vice Ganda Teases the Return of ‘Gandang Gabi Vice’

MANILA, Philippines — Fans of late-night comedy and celebrity banter have a reason to celebrate: Vice Ganda has officially teased the return of his hit talk show, Gandang Gabi Vice (GGV).

The “Unkabogable Star” dropped the bombshell during a talk at the University of Santo Tomas for the 27th Inkblots national campus journalism conference. While speaking to a crowd of students and aspiring journalists, Vice Ganda reportedly told the audience to watch out because “magbabalik na ang GGV” (GGV is coming back).

A Long-Awaited Revival Gandang Gabi Vice originally aired on ABS-CBN from 2011 to 2020, becoming a Sunday night staple known for its high-energy interviews, hilarious pranks, and Vice Ganda’s signature comedic timing.

The show went off the air nearly six years ago, and while Vice Ganda has remained a fixture on the noontime show It’s Showtime, fans have frequently petitioned for GGV’s revival. In 2023, the host admitted he had previously turned down offers to bring the show back due to a packed schedule, though he hinted at being open to a “seasonal” format in the future.

“Bukambibig Pa Rin” Following the announcement, ABS-CBN’s PR team shared the news on Instagram, further fueling the hype. Vice Ganda expressed his gratitude to the network and his followers, noting how touched he is that people still talk about the show years after its final episode.

“Super nakakahappy na kahit ilang years nang ‘di umeere ang GGV, bukambibig pa din ito ng madami,” Vice said. (I’m so happy that even if GGV hasn’t aired for years, many people still talk about it.)

While a specific premiere date and time slot have yet to be revealed, the news has already sent social media into a frenzy. Whether it returns as a weekly staple or a special seasonal run, one thing is certain: the “Trending Capital of the Philippines” is ready to reclaim its throne.
