MANILA – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has released the list of affected sections along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) for the initial intensive phase of its eight-month rehabilitation project, focusing on concrete reblocking and asphalt overlay works from December 28, 2025, to January 5, 2026. This follows the project’s kickoff on Christmas Eve (December 24, 2025), with round-the-clock operations during the holiday break to minimize long-term disruptions.
Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon emphasized the shorter timeline (eight months vs. previous two-year estimates) and use of durable stone mastic asphalt (SMA) for better quality and faster execution. Works during the holiday period run 24/7 (11 p.m. to 4 a.m. window extended), reopening lanes by 5 a.m. where possible.
