MANILA – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warns of a wet Sunday across several regions on December 14, 2025, as three weather systems—the shear line, northeast monsoon (amihan), and easterlies—converge to deliver scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms. While no tropical cyclones are in sight, the combined influence could trigger flash floods or landslides in vulnerable areas, especially during heavy bursts.
The shear line will dominate eastern sections, bringing cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms to:
- Bicol Region
- Eastern Visayas
- Quezon
- Aurora
The amihan will drive cloudy conditions with light rains over:
- Cagayan Valley
- Cordillera Administrative Region
- Ilocos Region
- Rest of Central Luzon
Easterlies—warm, moist winds from the Pacific—will cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms across Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, with a higher chance of afternoon or evening downpours.
PAGASA weather specialist Obet Badrina advised caution: “Accumulation can happen quickly in low-lying areas—stay alert for sudden flooding.” No gale warnings are in effect, but moderate to rough seas (2.0-3.5 meters) are possible in northern and eastern seaboards, advising small vessels to exercise caution.
Temperatures remain mild: Metro Manila 24-31°C, Baguio 16-23°C, with hot and humid feels in the south.
