The Philippine National Police (PNP) has relieved 15 officers — including their unit commander — after a Grade 9 student accused them of rape and robbery during a supposed buy-bust operation in Bacoor, Cavite.
According to PNP leadership, eight of the accused officers have been arrested, while six remain at large. The relief was carried out under the principle of command responsibility, with the unit head also removed from his post.
The allegations state that during the operation, the officers forcibly entered the student’s home, took her belongings, and sexually assaulted her. PNP Chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. emphasized that the PNP has “zero tolerance for abuse, misconduct, or any action that undermines public trust.”
An administrative investigation is being handled by the PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG), while the Cavite police lead the criminal probe.
