Yulo Uses Junior World Podium as Springboard for Bigger Dreams

Karl Eldrew Yulo made a strong statement at the 3rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics Junior World Championships, winning a bronze in the men’s floor exercise with a score of 13.733.

Despite placing eighth overall in the all-around final with 78.731 points, he expressed pride in his performance and saw it as a big step forward.

Yulo’s campaign was underpinned by months of hard training in Japan with coach Munehiro Kugimiya, the same mentor who helped mold his brother, Olympic champion Carlos Yulo.

His older brother, Carlos, also praised Eldrew’s progress, noting a significant improvement in technique, mindset, and maturity.

For Eldrew, this is more than just a medal — it’s a launch pad. He emphasized that this achievement is part of a “longer journey,” signaling his ambition to grow and compete at even higher levels.

Though this was his final Junior Worlds, Yulo is already looking ahead, ready to translate this momentum into future senior competitions.
