NASA has released new close-up images of 3I/ATLAS, an interstellar comet currently passing through our solar system. These images were taken by several spacecraft near Mars, including the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. The comet is only the third confirmed object discovered to originate from outside our solar system. Scientists say the photos show a clearly defined coma (the cloud of gas and dust around the comet) and a tail that aligns with typical comet behavior — confirming it’s not an alien probe, but indeed a natural comet.
