Meteorologists report that Tropical Depression Uwan is holding its strength while moving over the sea east of Taiwan.
The state weather bureau noted that the system remains active and hazardous, with strong to gale‑force winds projected to affect coastal and upland zones.
Sea conditions have become especially dangerous: wave heights are forecast to reach up to 4.0 meters along the seaboards of Batanes, and 3.0 meters over the northern and western seaboards of the Babuyan Islands and Ilocos Norte. Mariners of small craft are strongly advised to avoid venturing into these waters.
Authorities also mentioned that while the storm’s center is outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), risk remains for gusty conditions, especially over exposed areas in northern Luzon.
