PAF Helicopter Crashes During Typhoon Tino Relief Mission — 6 Personnel Found Dead

A Super Huey helicopter operated by the Philippine Air Force crashed in the province of Agusan del Sur while conducting a relief mission amid Typhoon Tino, resulting in the tragic deaths of six air force personnel.

The aircraft lost communication on Tuesday and, following a search-and-rescue operation, military teams recovered six bodies from the crash site.

Officials said the helicopter belonged to the PAF’s search and rescue command and was deployed to assist communities impacted by the powerful storm, which brought intense rainfall and flooding across the region.

The identities of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of next of kin, and the PAF has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash. Meanwhile, rescue efforts continue to secure the site and ensure no further personnel are endangered
