Tropical Storm Ramil brought heavy rains and strong winds across several parts of the country, leaving at least six people dead and displacing thousands due to flooding and landslides.
According to disaster officials, Ramil’s torrential downpour caused rivers to overflow and mountain slopes to give way, particularly in areas already saturated from previous storms. Rescue teams have been deployed to assist stranded residents and deliver relief supplies to affected communities.
Several provinces remain under storm warnings as authorities continue to monitor the weather system’s movement. Power interruptions and road closures have also been reported, further hampering relief efforts.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) has urged the public to remain alert and cooperate with local authorities, especially in high-risk zones prone to flash floods and landslides.
As Ramil moves away from the Philippine area of responsibility, weather experts warn that scattered rains may still persist in parts of Luzon and Visayas in the coming days.
