A 19-year-old student was found brutally killed in her bedroom in Barangay La Filipina, Tagum City, Davao del Norte, on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. Police reported the victim suffered 38 stab wounds and was discovered lifeless, covered with a blanket.
Authorities believe robbery was the motive, as several of the victim’s personal belongings were stolen, including a laptop, cellphone, tablet, and wristwatch.
Recovered from the crime scene were a grass cutter, a bolo, a dumbbell, and a handkerchief, all believed to have been used in the assault.
Tagum City Police and Davao del Norte Police Provincial Director Col. Alexander Serrano Jr. have launched a full investigation to track down those responsible. Serrano vowed justice for the victim and urged the public to come forward with any relevant information.
The victim’s family has requested an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
