Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray impressed fans with her surprise acting chops during the “Jurassic World Rebirth Activation” in Krabi, Thailand—a special promotional event for the newest film in the Jurassic World franchise.
Gray shared a fun video of herself in an action-packed scene, filmed at the actual movie location, where she dramatically fled from CGI dinosaurs. She also posted behind-the-scenes moments on Instagram, calling the experience “one of the coolest” she’s ever had. “Although I feel like I’m one of the characters who get eaten first,” she joked.
Fans and celebrities alike were quick to praise her performance, calling it her unofficial acting debut. Broadcast journalist MJ Marfori encouraged Gray to reconsider sticking only to hosting, while other fans urged her to pursue acting seriously.
Jurassic World Rebirth picks up five years after Jurassic World Dominion and stars Scarlett Johansson as covert agent Zora Bennett. She’s joined by Jonathan Bailey and Mahershala Ali in a mission to a mysterious island. The film is directed by Rogue One and Godzilla director Gareth Edwards and penned by David Koepp, writer of the original Jurassic Park.
The movie is now screening in Philippine cinemas.
