VATICAN CITY — As tensions between Israel and Iran reach alarming levels, Pope Leo XIV has issued a strong appeal for restraint, urging both nations to act with “responsibility and reason.”
Speaking from the Vatican, the pontiff expressed deep concern over the worsening conflict, calling it a “seriously deteriorating” situation at a critical moment for global peace.
“The commitment to building a safer world free from nuclear threats must be based on respectful dialogue,” Pope Leo said. “No nation should threaten the existence of another.”
His remarks come as international leaders watch anxiously, hoping to prevent further escalation between the two regional powers.
