MANILA – “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition” housemates AZ Martinez and River Joseph won the recent Charity Task, earning P100,000 for the Cancer Treatment and Support Foundation Inc., a cause deeply personal to both.
Their win came after successfully building the highest tower using balls, stackers, and a panungkit, as shown in Friday night’s episode. In the confession room, both contestants dedicated their victory to their late fathers—AZ’s dad passed away from liver cirrhosis, and River’s from cancer.
“I’m just happy we were able to do it, and even happier that we can bless others,” AZ shared. River, emotional about his first task win, said it was even more meaningful because it was “for something greater,” honoring the memory of their dads.
“If he were alive today, I know he’d be proud,” River said tearfully, calling his father his hero and a generous soul he hopes to emulate.
AZ added that her father always helped others, even during their own struggles. “He taught me to be a blessing, no matter your situation,” she said.
“Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition” airs on GMA Network weeknights at 10:05 p.m. and Saturdays at 6:15 p.m.
