Liza Soberano Throws First Pitch at Dodgers’ Filipino Heritage Night: “So Honored!”

Filipino-American actress Liza Soberano proudly took center field at Dodger Stadium as she threw the ceremonial first pitch during the Los Angeles Dodgers vs. New York Mets game on June 3, in celebration of Filipino Heritage Night.

Sharing the moment on Instagram, Soberano expressed gratitude for the opportunity to represent the Filipino community. “So honored to be among all my kababayans throwing the first pitch… I was so nervous, but I think I did okay?” she captioned.

Fans and sports watchers quickly praised her pitch, noting that the ball cleared home plate—a solid delivery for a first-timer.

Soberano joined other Filipino talents like singer Jeff Bernat and girl group 4th Impact at the event, which paid tribute to Filipino culture and contributions in the U.S.

This marks another high-profile appearance for the “Lisa Frankenstein” star, who recently featured in the visual documentary project “Can I Come In?” by artist Sarah Bahbah, and attended major global events like Netflix Tudum 2025 and the Gold House Gala in Los Angeles.

Soberano joins past Filipino stars like Ylona Garcia, Saweetie, and Jacob Batalon who have taken part in ceremonial pitches at the iconic Dodger Stadium.
