Willie Revillame: No Platform, Just 27 Years of Helping the Poor

TV host-turned-senatorial candidate Willie Revillame said he’s running for office without a formal platform—only a lifetime of public service. Speaking during a motorcade in San Jose, Nueva Ecija, Revillame emphasized that his 27 years of helping Filipinos in need is proof enough of his advocacy.

“I don’t need a platform. I’ve been helping the poor for 27 years. That’s my platform—to help and not to steal,” he said in a Facebook Live video.

Revillame called on voters to choose leaders who have long served the public without making empty promises. He said his priority, if elected, would be to address the country’s budget woes and promote unity among Filipinos.

“We won’t prosper if our leaders are constantly fighting,” he stressed.

True to his signature style, Revillame gave away white shirts to bystanders and blue jackets to the elderly, PWDs, and mothers, noting that the jackets could double as blankets.

Running as an independent, Revillame announced that his next campaign stop would be in Laguna.

Also on the campaign trail, PDSP’s Norberto Gonzales marked his party’s 52nd anniversary with a call to continue fighting political corruption and inequality. Meanwhile, retired Col. Ariel Querubin pushed for scholarships for the eldest child in each Filipino family to help address falling literacy rates and rising dropout rates.

Partido Maharlika’s Michael Tapado, another senatorial hopeful, joined President Marcos and other officials during the Labor Day celebration at Malacañang.
