“Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition” housemate Shuvee Etrata had an emotional moment during Wednesday’s episode after reading a heartfelt letter from her father — a letter hand-delivered by fellow celebrity Donny Pangilinan.
Moved to tears, Shuvee shared that the letter, in which her father apologized, acknowledged his past shortcomings, and shared that he now had a job, felt like the emotional support she had long craved.
“In the confession room, I said it felt like a hug I’ve been waiting for,” she told Big Brother. The letter touched on personal issues she had opened up about inside the house, particularly the absence of her parents’ support during her three-year stay in Manila.
“There were many times I needed them, times I needed their support, but they were never there,” she said. “That’s why my resentment grew.”
However, she said the letter helped ease the anger she’d carried. “The embrace I needed from a father, I finally felt through that letter.”
Aside from the emotional moment, the episode also showed Shuvee’s lighthearted reactions to Donny Pangilinan, with whom she appeared to share some kilig (romantic excitement).
