
Actress Maris Racal was overwhelmed with emotion after seeing her film “Sunshine” premiere for the first time at the prestigious Far East Film Festival in Udine, Italy.
Dressed in a custom Filipiniana designed by Marc Rancy, Racal attended the screening alongside acclaimed director Antoinette Jadaone. A video shared on Racal’s Instagram Stories showed her visibly emotional during the event.
Production house Project 8 Projects posted another moment from the night, capturing Racal wiping away tears as the audience applauded at the film’s end.
“Maris Racal saw ‘Sunshine’ for the first time in Udine, Italy. This was her as the credits rolled and the whole theatre clapped for her. She bawled her eyes out,” the caption read, expressing pride in Racal’s heartfelt performance. “We love you, Sunshine. The world is yours!”
“Sunshine” portrays the story of a young gymnast whose aspirations to represent the national team are put on hold after she learns she is pregnant.
The film previously garnered international acclaim, screening at the Palm Springs International Film Festival and winning the Crystal Bear award at the Berlin International Film Festival.
Project 8 Projects also announced that “Sunshine” will soon screen at the San Diego Asian Film Festival Spring Showcase, continuing its journey across international audiences.
