Jericho Rosales has officially confirmed that he is in a relationship with Janine Gutierrez—making the announcement during a heartfelt moment at the wake of veteran singer Pilita Corrales, Janine’s grandmother.
In a video shared by Ecy Rapadas on Facebook, Rosales gave a moving tribute at the wake held at Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig. Standing before mourners, the Lavender Fields star expressed admiration for the Gutierrez family, calling them “an amazing family.”
“I’ve been honored to spend time with them because I’m Janine’s boyfriend. Let’s just put it out there,” he said, earning warm reactions from the crowd.
Rosales also shared a personal story about his mother, who suffers from Alzheimer’s and remains deeply moved by Corrales’ music. “Her songs go beyond memory—they are embedded in her heart,” he said.
He recounted emotional moments when Janine would visit his mother and they would tearfully bond over Pilita’s timeless songs.
To close his tribute, Rosales performed Paglisan, a song he described as “a perfect picture of love.”
Pilita Corrales, also known as Asia’s Queen of Songs, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 12.
