Neri Naig Reflects on Healing After Ordeal: “Even After the Darkest Days, You Can Bloom”

Actress and entrepreneur Neri Naig opened up about her healing journey this Holy Week, drawing strength from her family and inner peace after enduring what she called some of the “darkest days” of her life.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, the “Wais na Misis” looked back on her November 2024 arrest and brief detention due to syndicated estafa and securities violation charges related to her past endorsement of Dermacare—a company later linked to an alleged investment scam. The charges were eventually dropped for lack of probable cause, and she was released on December 4.

Despite the public scrutiny and emotional toll, Naig shared how she has been healing slowly, much like the sunflowers she was seen harvesting in a field—a metaphor for growth through adversity.

“These sunflowers didn’t grow overnight. They needed light, care, and time,” she said. “Cutting these blooms reminds me: Even after the darkest days, something beautiful can still grow.”

Naig, supported throughout by her husband, Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda, encouraged others going through hard times with a hopeful message:
“From pain, peace. From silence, strength. From the soil of sorrow, joy can rise again.”

She ended with a reminder:
“If you’re going through something right now—this is your reminder: healing takes time, but you will bloom too. One gentle day at a time.”
