Marjorie Barretto has responded to Dennis Padilla’s recent claims that he was treated like a mere guest at their daughter Claudia Barretto’s wedding. In a tell-all interview with Ogie Diaz, Marjorie revealed that Claudia had clearly told her father in advance that she preferred to walk down the aisle on her own—a decision he agreed to.
Marjorie explained that Claudia initially didn’t want to invite her father due to their estranged relationship. “I encouraged her to pray about it,” she said, emphasizing that she didn’t push her daughter but hoped for healing.
The topic came up during a family lunch on March 18, where Claudia openly shared her boundaries: no posting about the wedding and a solo walk down the aisle. Dennis, Marjorie said, agreed to both.
Marjorie also addressed criticism about her walking Claudia halfway down the aisle. She explained that this was a last-minute decision due to a traditional element involving the bride’s veil and that Claudia still entered the church on her own.
As for claims that Dennis was ignored at the ceremony, Marjorie debunked these as well. “He was welcomed warmly by my family. He chose to sit at the back. The front rows were reserved for principal sponsors,” she said.
Marjorie further revealed that Dennis appeared upset upon her arrival and gave her a cold look from across the church. She added that he seemed intent on documenting the event for social media, with videos reportedly taken as he exited the church appearing staged.
She also denied that Dennis’ mother was treated poorly or that any wedding organizers comforted him due to mistreatment. “If he felt out of place, that wasn’t anyone else’s doing,” she said.
