Kathryn Bernardo has set the record straight: she’s single — and loving it.
The actress made the statement during a red carpet interview at the ABS-CBN Ball 2025, where journalist Gretchen Fullido asked her about her current relationship status.
“I’m very happy. And yes, still single,” Kathryn responded with a smile, effectively quashing rumors linking her to Lucena City Mayor Mark Alcala.
Speculation had been swirling online after entertainment insider Ogie Diaz claimed the two were dating, citing an unnamed source. Fans also noticed that Kathryn’s mother, Min Bernardo, allegedly followed Alcala on Instagram — a move that only fueled the gossip. Min later unfollowed the mayor after screenshots began circulating.
While Min hasn’t confirmed whether she followed Alcala at all, she previously told ABS-CBN’s MJ Felipe that Kathryn “has many suitors but is currently still single.”
As of now, Alcala follows Kathryn on Instagram, but the actress has not followed him back.
