More Fake-Looking Names Surface in Alleged OVP Fund Misuse, Lawmaker Dubs List ‘Team Grocery’

A new batch of unusual, grocery-themed names has been linked to the alleged misuse of P500 million in confidential funds under the Office of the Vice President (OVP) led by Sara Duterte, according to House Deputy Majority Leader Paolo Ortega V.

Ortega, who previously revealed questionable names like “Jay Kamote” and “Miggy Mango,” said the latest list—sarcastically dubbed “Team Grocery”—includes names such as Beverly Claire Pampano, Mico Harina, Patty Ting, Ralph Josh Bacon, and Sala Casim.

“These names sound like items on a market or grocery list,” Ortega noted, adding that none of them appear in the official records of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

He questioned where the funds were actually allocated if these supposed recipients don’t exist. “If these people aren’t real, where did the money go?” he asked.

The new revelation follows an earlier list Ortega called “Team Amoy Asim,” featuring names like “Amoy Liu,” “Fernand Amuy,” and “Joug De Asim.”

He expressed concern that the list keeps expanding, suggesting a deliberate effort to fabricate names to cover up potential fund misuse.

In past hearings, lawmakers uncovered multiple irregularities in OVP and Department of Education records—including suspicious signatures, missing documents, and mismatched dates.

The controversy began when the name “Mary Grace Piattos”—which does not appear in PSA records—was repeatedly used in official receipts. A P1 million reward was even offered for information about her identity.

While the House of Representatives has impeached VP Sara Duterte over the matter, she has denied any wrongdoing and insists her office used the funds properly.
