A father in Pasig City was arrested after firing his gun during an altercation, which began when he confronted individuals allegedly responsible for injuring his son in a basketball brawl.
Escalating Confrontation Turns Violent
According to a 24 Oras report by Emil Sumangil, the shooting incident left three people wounded.
CCTV footage showed the suspect confronting a pedestrian on a busy street before being pushed, punched, and hit with a motorcycle helmet. In response, he pulled out a gun and fired, causing his attackers to flee.
The gunman then escaped on a motorcycle but was apprehended within 24 hours.
Suspect’s Justification
The father claimed he was only defending his son and surrendered willingly to prevent further harm to his family. He also plans to file a complaint against those who hurt his son.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
