Maris Racal and Anthony Jennings Explore Love Beyond Romance in Sosyal Climbers

Maris Racal and Anthony Jennings take on a refreshing challenge in Sosyal Climbers, a film that goes beyond the usual romance tropes. Instead of focusing on mere kilig moments, the movie delves into the struggles of relationships, identity, and survival.

The two play Jessa and Ray, a couple pretending to be wealthy socialites to escape financial hardships. Their journey forces them to confront deeper relationship questions: Are they still happy? Are they staying together for love or convenience?

To elevate their performances, Racal and Jennings hired an acting coach, determined to bring authenticity to their characters. “We wanted to approach this film differently, even if it’s a comedy,” Racal shared.

Beyond romance, Sosyal Climbers tackles real-life struggles, reflecting the difficulties of young couples navigating love amid financial pressures. “Love isn’t just about emotions—it’s about sacrifice, commitment, and knowing yourself,” Jennings emphasized.

With humor and heart, Sosyal Climbers presents a relatable take on relationships in the real world—where love alone may not always be enough.
