Kris Aquino Diagnosed with 7th Autoimmune Disease, Not Yet Fit to Work

MANILA, PhilippinesKris Aquino has been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, her seventh autoimmune disease, adding to her ongoing health struggles.

In an Instagram update, the Queen of All Media shared a photo from her sickbed, accompanied by Kim Chiu, Miles Ocampo, Darla, and her doctors, Rainier Tanalgo and Hazel David.

She clarified that she is still “not fit to work” as she weighs only 37 kilos (82 pounds).

Battling Multiple Autoimmune Diseases

Aquino revealed that she is also exhibiting symptoms of two more autoimmune conditions:
🔹 Polymyositis – A rare inflammatory disease causing muscle weakness
🔹 Mixed Connective Tissue Disease (MCTD) – A disorder with overlapping symptoms of multiple autoimmune diseases

Having severe allergies to NSAIDs, steroids, pain relievers, antibiotics, and Immunoglobulin Therapy, she admitted that managing the pain is extremely difficult.

Autoimmune Thyroiditis
Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria
Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (EGPA) – A life-threatening form of vasculitis
Systemic Sclerosis
Lupus
Rheumatoid Arthritis
Fibromyalgia (newly diagnosed)

Personal Update: Single and Focusing on Health

Kris also put an end to speculations about her love life, confirming that she has been single for some time.

“No boyfriend, so clearly no fiancé,” she wrote, adding that she prefers not to elaborate on past relationships.

A Continuing Fight for Recovery

After spending two years in the US for treatment, Kris returned to the Philippines in 2024 to start her second immunosuppressant infusion.

For her 54th birthday this February, she celebrated with her sons Josh and Bimby, showing resilience despite her health battles.

Her closing message: “Thank you for your love and concern.” She added the hashtags #HindiSusuko and #TuloyAngLABAN, emphasizing her determination to keep fighting.
