Jellie Aw to Pursue Charges Against Jam Ignacio Despite His Apology

Businessman Jam Ignacio appeared before the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Friday to address allegations that he had physically abused his fiancée, vlogger and DJ Jellie Aw.

Despite Ignacio’s public apology, Aw has made it clear that she will proceed with legal action against him.

NBI: No Warrantless Arrest, But Charges Will Be Filed

According to NBI Director Jaime Santiago, since the alleged abuse happened some time ago, a warrantless arrest was not applicable. However, he emphasized that the case is classified as a public crime and will be filed with the prosecutor’s office for proper legal action.

“The crime committed is a public crime. We will file it in the prosecutor’s office, and it will be up to them to evaluate the evidence,” Santiago explained.

Jellie Aw: “I Have Forgiven, But I Will Still Pursue the Case”

In an exclusive interview, Aw acknowledged Ignacio’s apology but stressed that forgiveness does not mean there will be no consequences.

“I have forgiven Jam from the start, but I will still pursue the case,” she stated.

She also dismissed Ignacio’s explanation that the incident stemmed from a misunderstanding, warning that abuse should never be excused.

“Feeling overwhelmed is not an excuse. What if I give him a second chance, and he gets overwhelmed again? He might do it again—maybe even worse.”

Wedding Plans Canceled

Ignacio had previously stated that he still wanted to go through with their wedding, but Aw firmly shut down the possibility.

“There will be no wedding. All of our plans have been scrapped because of what happened,” she declared.

She also shared how the incident deeply affected her family, especially her mother.

“My mom has been deeply traumatized. She cries every night, and I can’t bear it. She’s the only one I have left.”

Legal Battle Ahead

With Aw standing her ground, the case is now in the hands of the prosecutor’s office, where it will be determined whether formal charges will be filed against Ignacio.

This incident serves as a strong reminder that accountability should always take precedence, regardless of public apologies or personal reconciliations.
