Man Beaten by Residents After Attempted Kidnapping of Two Kids in Caloocan

A man was mobbed by angry residents in Barangay 35, Maypajo, Caloocan City after allegedly attempting to kidnap two schoolchildren on Tuesday morning.

How the Incident Unfolded

Barangay tanod Bernie Nacubuan witnessed the suspect pulling a child and intervened.

“He told me he was just fetching his child, but the child hugged me and said, ‘That’s not my father, don’t let him take me!’” – Nacubuan

The second child also ran home crying, telling his parents that a stranger tried to take him.

Suspect’s Background and Arrest

The suspect claimed he was from Manila and said he just missed his children.
Caloocan Mayor Dale Gonzalo Malapitan said initial investigations suggest he may be mentally unstable, having been abandoned by his wife and children.
He was detained last December for drug use and allegedly had not eaten for days.

Legal Actions

The suspect has been booked at the Caloocan City Police Women and Children’s Desk.
He will undergo inquest proceedings for attempted kidnapping.

Authorities are continuing their investigation while reminding parents to stay vigilant about their children’s safety.
