MANILA – Maymay Entrata has addressed accusations that she used autotune during her performance on “It’s Showtime”, clarifying that her vocals were completely raw, even admitting she had some flat notes in the song.
The issue arose after a Twitter (X) user claimed that her rendition of Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” during the show’s “Hide and Sing” segment sounded enhanced, unlike the other mystery singers.
“Hi po, ma’am. Hindi po naka-autotune yan, may mga flats pa nga po ako e,” Entrata responded, adding, “Sorry if I wasn’t good enough sa inyo. I’ll do better.”
Netizen Apologizes
The user later retracted the statement and issued an apology, acknowledging the comment was unfair and did not reflect the effort Entrata puts into her craft.
Maymay’s Music Career
Despite the criticism, Entrata remains focused on her music career. She recently announced her new song, “Paradise”, set for release on February 20 as part of her commitment to seriously pursuing music.
