Ces Molina and Riri Meneses, two standout players of the Cignal HD Spikers, have officially parted ways with the team, according to an announcement by their talent management agency, Avior Talent Management, on Thursday.
“Avior Talent Management expresses its most sincere gratitude towards Cignal HD Spikers Management for all the opportunities it had given to Frances Xinia Molina and Marivic Meneses… as they have decided to part ways with the team,” the agency said in a social media post, wishing the team continued success.
Cignal’s Response
Later that evening, Cignal HD Spikers released a statement expressing concern over the situation, citing a “material breach” of both players’ contracts.
The team revealed that:
- Avior Talent Management reached out on January 6 to request the termination of Molina and Meneses’ live contracts to pursue unspecified opportunities abroad.
- Cignal’s management had initiated discussions for contract renewals as early as October 2024, but neither player responded to communications or attended training since its resumption this week.
The team added that they are consulting their legal team to explore potential actions regarding the breach of contract.
Background
Molina and Meneses joined the HD Spikers in 2022, playing pivotal roles in the team’s campaigns.
The Cignal HD Spikers currently hold a 4-1 record in the PVL All-Filipino Conference and are scheduled to face the Galeries Tower High Risers on January 21, 2025.
