Pops Fernandez, the “Philippine Concert Queen,” has sounded the alarm on a fake Facebook account that uses her son Ram Nievera’s name to spread false information and exploit her family.
In a statement shared on her Instagram page on January 5, Fernandez revealed that the account falsely claimed Ram was using a product for a supposed brain aneurysm. The post included a family photo from 2021, taken during Ram’s health scare, and featured Fernandez, Ram, his brother Robin, and their father, singer Martin Nievera.
“A fake Facebook account is using my son Ram Nievera’s name and our family photo to scam people and spread false information,” Fernandez wrote. “These posts have caused harm to my family and affected my career and reputation.”
Warning of Legal Action
Fernandez stated that her team has already reported and removed some of these fake accounts but warned that continued misuse of her family’s images and the spreading of false content would result in legal action.
“If this continues, we will take legal action,” she said, emphasizing that her family’s safety and well-being are her top priorities.
Call for Help
Fernandez also urged her followers to help her report the fraudulent account to prevent further harm.
This isn’t the first time public figures have fallen victim to fake accounts and scams, but Fernandez’s proactive stance sends a strong message against exploitation and misinformation.
