
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) conducted inspections of firecracker stores in Bocaue, Bulacan, on Saturday, ensuring safety measures are in place ahead of New Year’s Day celebrations.

Fire Chief Superintendent Jesus Fernandez, BFP’s officer-in-charge, stated that the inspections aimed to verify compliance with safety protocols. The BFP also distributed flyers listing banned firecrackers to inform the public.
The prohibited firecrackers include:
- Binladen
- Atomic
- Kabase
- Kwiton Bomb
- Coke in Can
- Goodbye Chismosa
- Goodbye Philippines
- Pla-pla
- Piccolo
- Tuna
Fireworks-Related Injuries on the Rise
The Department of Health (DOH) reported 125 fireworks-related injuries as of December 28, with incidents primarily recorded in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Cagayan Valley, Western Visayas, Ilocos, and Central Visayas.
One fatality was also reported after an individual lit a Judas belt firecracker.

The DOH reiterated warnings about the dangers of firecracker use, urging safer alternatives to celebrate the New Year.
