Laureen Uy Shares Heartbreaking Loss of Unborn Child: ‘God Had Other Plans’

Laureen Uy revealed in an emotional Instagram post that she and her husband, Miggy Cruz, lost their unborn daughter, whom they named Miles. The couple shared that Miles’ heart had stopped beating, describing the experience as the most painful moment of their lives.

In an open letter to Miles, Uy wrote, “From the moment we found out we were pregnant with you, Dad and I were overcome with joy. It was the best news of our lives—a love so immense and instant, it’s hard to put into words.”

Uy recounted how she and Cruz did everything they could to ensure the safety of their child. She described their dreams of holding Miles, singing her to sleep, and exploring the world as a family of three.

“But then, God had other plans. The day we learned your heart had stopped beating was the day ours shattered,” Uy shared.

Struggles and Acceptance

Uy called the loss the worst day of her life, saying her body initially refused to let go of Miles. “Even now, it feels like a nightmare I can’t wake up from. But this is our reality, and it’s a pain I never thought I’d have to bear,” she said.

She expressed her grief over losing not just the dreams they had for their daughter, but Miles herself. “Losing you isn’t just about the hopes and dreams that slipped away—it’s the heartbreak of losing you, our precious baby girl. There are no words to describe the depth of this pain.”

Despite the heartbreak, Uy said she was grateful to have been Miles’ mother, even for a brief time, and has entrusted her daughter to God.

“You’ll forever be our daughter, our little angel. Though we grieve, we also hold on to faith,” she added. “We believe He has a plan for us—a future where your memory will forever remain a part of our story. We love you endlessly, Miles. Forever and ever.”

A Short Journey Together

Uy and Cruz, who were married in April 2024, had announced their pregnancy in October. While their time with Miles was brief, Uy’s heartfelt message resonated with many, capturing the profound loss and love they experienced.
