
Actress Bela Padilla has candidly shared her struggles with weight management and fitness, revealing how her health conditions—polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and hypothyroidism—make the journey especially challenging.
Through her Instagram Stories on Monday, November 25, Padilla detailed her efforts and progress, showing herself on a weighing scale.
Weight Loss Journey
Padilla disclosed that she weighed 63 kilograms after a recent trip to South Korea. With consistent effort, including working out four to five times a week and strict dieting, she has managed to bring her weight down to 57.1 kilograms.
“Working out intensely four to five times a week and eating almost nothing. Now I’m at 57.1kgs (still not my usual 50 to 53 but I’ll take it),” she said.
Despite the progress, she acknowledged that achieving her usual weight remains a work in progress.
Tailored Fitness Routine
The actress emphasized the importance of finding a fitness routine that works for her specific needs, which now includes morning stretching and breathing exercises, consulting with her doctor, taking supplements, and maintaining a clean diet.
“What works for most people might not work for you. I used to tire myself out in the gym but it was stressing me out more, which was making me bloat,” Padilla explained.
Her conditions—PCOS and hypothyroidism—have presented additional hurdles, but Padilla remains determined.
“My hypothyroidism and PCOS are making things challenging, but I never back down from a good challenge,” she stated.
Prioritizing Health
Padilla has long been vocal about valuing her health. In 2023, she highlighted the importance of mindful eating and self-care:
“You have to take care of yourself to be able to take care of others. That’s a fundamental thing. We Filipinos like to take care of our families and friends, but you can’t pour from an empty cup.”
