In a major Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) trade, San Miguel Beermen and Terrafirma Dyip completed a deal that sends longtime Beermen Terrence Romeo and Vic Manuel to Terrafirma. In exchange, San Miguel acquires Juami Tiongson and Andreas Cahilig.
End of an Era for Romeo and Manuel
The trade marks the end of Romeo’s five-year tenure with San Miguel, during which he won all three of his career PBA titles, including the Season 48 Commissioner’s Cup last February. Manuel leaves after three years with the team.
Romeo and Manuel are set to lead Terrafirma’s revamped core, teaming up with Stanley Pringle, Christian Standhardinger, Aldrech Ramos, Kevin Ferrer, and Kemark Cariño in a mix of experienced players and young talent.
Fresh Start for Tiongson
Juami Tiongson, who has been a pivotal player for Terrafirma, will now join a star-studded San Miguel Beermen backcourt that includes CJ Perez, Chris Ross, Marcio Lassiter, and Jericho Cruz, offering him much-needed support after years of carrying the Dyip.
Upcoming Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup
The revamped Terrafirma lineup is set to face a retooled Converge team in its opening match of the Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup.
