Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards has been fined $35,000 by the NBA for making an obscene gesture during Friday’s game against the Sacramento Kings.
The incident occurred with 3:15 remaining in the first quarter of Minnesota’s 130-126 overtime victory in Sacramento. Edwards’ gesture appeared to be aimed at someone in the crowd, according to league officials.
This marks the second significant fine for Edwards this year. In January, he was penalized $40,000 by the NBA for publicly criticizing officiating after a Timberwolves win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Despite these controversies, the 23-year-old remains a crucial asset for Minnesota. Edwards leads the team in scoring, averaging 28.4 points per game this season.
