Gerald Anderson Promoted to Auxiliary Captain in Philippine Coast Guard

Actor Gerald Anderson has achieved a new milestone by being promoted to auxiliary captain in the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA). Anderson took his oath during a ceremony held on the BRP Teresa Magbanua, as seen in photos he shared on Instagram. Among the attendees was his girlfriend, actress Julia Barretto, who expressed her pride in his accomplishment, sharing, “Congratulations, Captain Gerald. So proud,” on her Instagram Stories.

As a member of the PCGA, Anderson has actively participated in various humanitarian efforts. Notably, he assisted in rescue operations during Typhoon Ondoy in 2009, supported the Aeta community in Zambales, aided families in Marawi, and donated medical supplies and tents during the COVID-19 pandemic. Last August, Anderson was honored with a “search and rescue medal” by the Philippine Coast Guard for his work in rescuing a family stranded in Quezon City during Typhoon Carina, where he navigated chest-deep floodwaters to assist those in need.

In addition to his role with the PCGA, Anderson is also an Army reservist and will soon return to television in the ABS-CBN series Nobody.
