Vice Ganda Clarifies No Role in Ion Perez’s Decision to Withdraw from 2025 Elections

Vice Ganda addressed speculation surrounding Ion Perez’s recent decision to withdraw his candidacy for Concepcion, Tarlac councilor, clarifying that he had no influence on his partner’s choice. Speaking in an interview with Ogie Diaz, Vice Ganda emphasized that their relationship is built on mutual respect and independence in decision-making.

“Our dynamic isn’t like that. We don’t decide for each other,” the It’s Showtime host explained. “Ion doesn’t tell me what to do, and I don’t tell him what to do either.” He added that while they share opinions and suggestions, each of them makes their own life choices independently.

Perez announced his decision to step back from politics, explaining that he wants to better prepare himself to serve the community effectively. Vice Ganda expressed his understanding, noting that Perez had already been active in public service as a youth leader in Tarlac long before they met.

“I trust his decisions because I know his good heart. He wouldn’t waste the love, trust, and support people have shown him,” Vice Ganda said, affirming his support for Perez’s choice.
